Christian Church

CC 1.2 God gathers Christians to worship Him This unit will be taught to students in their first year of school. Students will have a wide range of prior experiences with church buildings, with some attending a local church regularly, and some with absolutely no understanding of the function of a church. It is expected that the students will follow their interests in regards to how they demonstrate their thinking, using forms such as building, drawing, and writing to express their growing understandings.

CC 2.1 The Bible, a very special book

This unit draws on a wide range of resources as students explore what exactly the Bible is, and whether it is an important book. Students inquire into the nature of the Bible as a book, its structure, the stories about God's people, and his plan to send a Saviour into the world. They consider the question of its importance for Christians and set about investigating this through interviews and research.

CC 2.2 2.3 God gathers a community of Christians The unit of work demonstrates one approach that can be taken with Level 2 students and the merging of two Christian Church key ideas: The Christian community is shaped by and shapes its cultural and historical contexts, and, Christians pray, worship and celebrate the sacraments.

A Pre-Primary unit looking at the question "What is Church?' This unit considers the idea that Christian communities are like families, sharing, loving and caring for one another.
