We are delighted to announce that Janet Moeller has joined LEA as the Project Officer for the review of the Christian Studies Curriculum Framework (CSCF). Janet is a dedicated professional with a profound passion for Lutheran education and a global commitment to enhancing teaching and learning. In her free time, you will see Janet on the golf course or in the swimming pool. You might also find her on the beach or riding a bike with her husband Nick and her dog Smudge.
Originally hailing from the United States, Janet’s upbringing involved attending Lutheran churches, schools and universities, even minoring in theology as part of her Lutheran teaching degree. Her educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
After working eight years in the United States, Janet’s teaching journey led her to Hong Kong where she played a pivotal role at Hong Kong International School, one of the world’s Top 25 internationals schools, owned and operated by the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. In addition to her teaching load in Hong Kong, Janet contributed to the development of Christian Studies curriculum and provided leadership in strategic planning.
As a Founding Board Member of the Asia Lutheran Education Association, Janet has a strong background in connecting Lutheran schools and supporting Service Learning initiatives across Asia.
Janet has served here in Australia as Head of Junior School at Good News Lutheran College in Tarneit and as Principal of Lutheran School Wagga Wagga. We are confident that Janet’s wealth of knowledge, leadership skills, and innovative approach will have a positive and lasting impact on our Christian Studies Curriculum Review project. Janet’s role in 2024 means the CSCF can undergo a review. This will be in collaboration and consultation with leaders and teachers of Christian Studies in Lutheran education. Further details on how to become involved (eg. through the Reference Group, advisory group, writing group, etc.) will be shared during term 1.
