The tasks support student inquiry into inequalities between the peoples of the world and the Christian’s call by God to be co-caretaker of his created world. The tasks were designed with Year 8 students in mind.
Tasks involve students in considering the impact of poverty on millions of the world’s people, and the Christian belief that God desires all people be responsible stewards of the gifts that he gives. Students are involved in brainstorming, interpreting, finding information, discussing, making suggestions, clarifying ideas, looking at pros and cons, problem solving, and reflecting as they develop understandings of Christian stewardship. The tasks support the key idea CL3: 'Christians have a responsibility in and for the world' and, in particular, the outcome CL 4.3 ‘The Lutheran’ articles. The quotes referred to are attached in two pdf files: Our 80-20 world, The third world.
