This program aims to facilitate the greater movement of women into the leadership in Lutheran Education. A literature study identified some key factors that tend to delay or stop women progressing. One of these and leadership potential. The role of mentorship and allyship is widely recognised as an enabler of women’s leadership. One aspect of this initiative is to train ‘allies’ who will identify and walk alongside women in their leadership development journey. While mentorship involves guidance and emotional support, allyship provides active advocacy and endorsement within leadership networks. LEA is offering online training through PeeplCoach to train allies in this task. This program will develop a network of current leaders as allies who will serve as gate-openers, challenging the hidden curriculum that governs leadership access in schools to support emerging female leaders in their school communities.
